Volume 1 - Edition 1
We
are not certain exactly what we plan to do with the newsletter. We are still in the
"thinking/design" phase. One thing we have wanted to do for a very long
time is create a web novella for Captain Cracker and his "belle dames".
Maybe this will be the spot! Come back often and check it out!
Notes on Shows:
Ever go to a show - love the artist's work - but feel really awkward about saying anything - especially when you are not prepared to buy anything? While there are some artists whose egos are bigger than their tents - many more feel just as awkward as you. They have just poured out their hearts on paper or canvas or some other media - then framed it up AND put it on display. Knowing that someone appreciates their work is VERY encouraging. Buying is a wonderful way to say you love their work - but when you cannot buy - at least speak up and let them know you enjoy the work!
This month's tip:
Never
place your purchased piece in full sunlight for extended periods. Those
that are hand-painted (especially watercolors such as mine) will fade if placed
in intense sunlight over an extended period. When you choose a place to
hang your newly purchased artwork - take a look at where the sun hits throughout
the day. If that leaves your piece in a darker part of the room, consider
a picture light. These are inexpensive and widely available anyplace
framing services are offered.
